Union Minister of Science & Technology Dr Harshvardhan while inaugurating Women Bio-tech Incubator at Golden Jubilee Biotech Park for Women Society in Chennai on October 16 said that globally there had been a special focus on addressing the issues related to 'Women in Science' and framing policies which support the same, stated an official release.
He
added that in India the Union government was stressing upon the need
for special programmes which not only technically empower the women
but also create employment opportunities. He held that the Indian
women scientists and entrepreneurs definitely were the game changers.

to Harshvardhan, the DST and DBT have special schemes to attract
women scientists and to provide employment opportunities to the
unemployed women scientists.
Women
entrepreneurship is a very important activity that has been growing
rapidly in last few years. Start up India and Stand up India schemes
had offering tremendous opportunities to the women entrepreneurs, the
release informed.
Here,
I am reminded of a remark by Litymunshi who had said that absolute
gender equality was not possible, and what was possible that we could
honour the qualities in each person that would reduce the gender gap.
I firmly believe that accommodation of diversity in institutions
through differentiated and contextual learning techniques we can move
social and gender equity.
